1. Agreement

By accessing or using Kvali ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Kvali provides tools to explore ancestry and genetic relationships among ancient and modern reference samples, including interactive maps, admixture models, Ancestry Stories, Ancestry Tree (genealogy-based profiles), workshop analysis, DNA Portrait (Kvali Origins converted kits), and Kvali AI chat. Features and pricing may change. Results are for informational and research interest only—we do not guarantee accuracy of ancestry or genetic interpretations.

3. Account and Your Data

Some features require an account. You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. You retain ownership of data you submit; you grant us the rights necessary to host, process, and display it to operate the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You must have the right to upload any genetic or personal data you provide (including data about relatives only where you are authorized).

4. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service for illegal purposes, to harass or harm others, to misrepresent genetic or personal information, to scrape or overload our systems, or to circumvent access controls or plan limits. We may suspend or terminate access for violations or for operational, legal, or safety reasons.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid features are offered through our payment provider (Dodo Payments). Prices shown in the app (e.g. Advanced Explorer from $9.95/month, Kvali Origins at $29.95) are subject to change; the price at checkout applies.

Advanced Explorer is a recurring subscription billed in advance. Cancel via the subscription management flow; access continues through the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
Kvali Origins is a one-time purchase that unlocks processing of a raw kit into G25 and related entitlements for that sample. Credits are non-transferable and used according to in-app rules.

Refunds follow our payment provider's policies and applicable law. Taxes may apply based on your location.

6. AI Features

Kvali AI chat, sample context, ethnicity quiz, and DNA Portrait use automated systems that may produce incorrect, incomplete, or offensive content. You use them at your own risk. Do not submit sensitive data beyond what the feature requires. We may rate-limit or disable AI features by plan or for abuse.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. ANCESTRY, GENETIC, AND AI OUTPUTS ARE NOT MEDICAL, DIAGNOSTIC, OR LEGAL ADVICE. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON THE SERVICE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD $50), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the revised terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
